When we were approached, for this project, What's Cooking were already operating a successful retail outlet, in Fakenham, Norfolk. In-store, they used an EPOS set up provided by Datasym, and this allowed them to automatically and easily manage their stock and sales information.

The decision was taken to expand into the online market, but, with the online and retail shops both sharing the same stock, it became apparent that the website would need to link together with the EPOS system, in order to provide live stock data to online customers. For this, it was necessary to create a bespoke addition to our webshop system, so that the link could be managed in real-time.

Our developers worked together with Datasym's developers to create a means for the two systems to talk to each other and share information. In order to facilitate this, Datasym were able to make changes to their existing software, which allowed us to implement our desired solution into What's Cooking's web shop.

The process of planning and development took some time, but it was important for both parties to get this right, from the outset. We worked hard to create a stable and reliable method of transferring data in real-time, and the result of this is a web shop that accurately shares data with the in-store EPOS system.

Since launch, What's Cooking have found our admin interface simple to use and have been delighted with the performance of the link, and the web shop, in general.
